ITC Director General Wins JICA President Award

PHNOM PENH: The Director General of the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC), Dr. Om Romny, received the JICA President Award from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on Wednesday.

The award ceremony was held at the ITC, both online and offline, and the award was presented to Dr. Om Romny by the Chief Representative of JICA Cambodia, Kamei Haruko.

Dr. Om Romny was one of the 42 selected global winners of the award in 2021, nominated by the JICA Cambodia Office and other relevant departments who have recognized his immense and longstanding contributions to JICA’s activities.

Dr. Om Romny stated that he was very excited to receive the JICA President Award, and expressed that he will continue to show a strong commitment to maintaining close collaborations and cooperation between JICA and ITC, as well as in strengthening the bond between Cambodia and Japan.

The JICA President Award has been honoring individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to the socioeconomic development and personnel training in developing countries, such as Cambodia, since 2004.
